Local Preschools May Be Closing Down, Parents Concerned

Parents in the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) are concerned after changes to some preschools in the district.

The district told NBC 7 that four day care centers in the district will be facing changes or closed down, including Logan Child Development Center. The decision is leaving some parents wondering where they could take their children for preschool.

Parent Yvonne Villa told NBC 7 that Logan Child Development Center will be closing down.

But according to the district, it will only be changed from a full day to a half-day.

SDUSD says they have called families who will be impacted and notified them of any changes.

“If they meet the requirements for pre-school eligibility, they can come to us and we can give the site closest to them that will best serve them,” said Isabella McNeil from SDUSD.

The district says any parents who have questions or concerns can call them at (858)-496-8126.
