Local Man Accused of Planning Attack on Mosque

An Imperial Beach man is accused of planning an attack on one of the nation’s largest mosques. The suspect, wearing a ski mask while driving, was pulled over and arrested by police.

The incident occurred in Dearborn Michigan, just 10 miles west of Detroit, where 63-year-old Roger Stockham was observed taking pictures of the building and making comments regarding a potential explosion at the mosque.

Police Chief Ronald Haddad told reporters that authorities discovered two dozen class-C fireworks in the vehicle. Among those explosives were M-80’s, which are illegal in the state of Michigan.

Stockham, who was arrested just outside the mosque a week ago, could face up to 35 years in prison.
