San Diego-based Scripps Health ranked 24th and Qualcomm Inc. placed 32nd on Fortune magazine’s recently released annual list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For.

The list included four other firms with sizable local operations: Detroit-based Quicken Loans at No. 5, Mountain View-based Intuit Inc. at No. 8, DPR Construction Inc. of Redwood City at No. 10 and Denver’s PCL Construction Enterprises at No. 59.
The magazine’s annual list, compiled with the Great Places to Work Institute, ranks U.S. corporate workplaces based on surveys of employees.
On its website, Fortune said 257 firms participated in this year’s surveys, tracking factors including job satisfaction, management credibility and other elements of workplace culture.
Google Inc. of Mountain View topped this year’s rankings.
