Lifeguards Find Body in Mission Bay

Lifeguards found the body of a missing swimmer Tuesday.

The man's body was found floating about a mile offshore in the middle of Mission Bay near Ski Beach when a recreation boater found it, according to San Diego lifeguard Lt. Nick Lerma.

The boater used a Marine radio to get in contact with lifeguards, who were conducting an underwater search for the man nearby.

The man was last seen swimming near Crown Point off Mission Bay.

The Medical Examiner's office must conduct an investigation to determine the exact cause of death.
