Lakers Lose to Kings in San Diego

The Los Angeles Lakers closed out a winless preseason with a 94-82 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night.

The Lakers (0-8) played without Kobe Bryant, who is nursing a bruised and strained right foot and is questionable for Tuesday's opener against Dallas. Bryant did not make the trip to San Diego for the exhibition finale.

Dwight Howard, recovering from back surgery, played his second preseason game for Los Angeles and finished with nine points and eight rebounds.

DeMarcus Cousins had 20 points and 13 rebounds for Sacramento, which finished off a 5-2 preseason and will face Chicago in its opener on Tuesday.

The Kings, who beat the Lakers three times in the preseason, had five players score in double figures. Isaiah Thomas had 20 points, Tyreke Evans scored 14, Jason Thompson finished with 12 and Marcus Thornton 10.

Devin Ebanks had 14 points for the Lakers, who trailed by as many as 23 points in the second half.
Los Angeles had 21 turnovers, which led to 28 points by the Kings.

No team has gone winless in the preseason and made it to the NBA finals.
