A ladder obstructing cars on the northbound I-805 caused a multi-vehicle accident at about noon on Monday.
When emergency crews responded to the accident near Clairemont Mesa Blvd, one car had rolled over onto its roof, and several other vehicles were impacted.
One of the vehicles impacted was trying to leave the scene as responders arrived.
Six people required medical attention following the accident, according to a California Highway Patrol spokesperson.
