A water main break flooded a La Jolla street Friday morning.
The break happened around 5:30 a.m. at Country Club Drive and Mimulus Way, according to San Diego police. Police closed part of the street, and drivers were asked to avoid the area.
Parts of the pavement cracked under the pressure of the water. Water also flowed into nearby homes and garages.
The water department has turned off the water and is working to repair the break. Customers without water should have service restored by 4 p.m., according to the water department.
Neighbors told NBC 7 that the water was also shut off last weekend when crews were working in the same spot.
