A killer whale at SeaWorld San Diego is recovering after he was injured during a night performance.

SeaWorld says 11-year-old Nakai was treated for a lower jaw injury that he suffered last week when he came into contact with the pool.

A statement doesn't detail what happened. It does say the whale is receiving antibiotics, swims comfortably and is interacting with other whales at the park.

Photos obtained by writer Tim Zimmermann show the injured whale with the large wound on his jaw.
