MoshPix: Music, drinks and Twitter sounds like a great night but add in raising money for a good cause, and you've hit Twestival.
The party lasted well into the night.
Twestival celebrations -- Twitter-inspired fundraising events -- are being held in 210 cities around the world this week.
Here in San Diego, San Diegans got together Saturday night at Hotel Solamar to enjoy some drinks, some music and raise money for a good cause all while tweeting to their friends.
Stay Classy.org organized the event. Their goal is to raise $500,000 to build a shelter for abandoned youth, aged 18 to 24, here in San Diego. They've raised $75,000 to date, according to Pat Walsh with Stay Classy.
"It's not well known actually We're trying to get the word out about the problem through this event and other events throughout the year," said Scot Chisholm with StayClassy.org.
Partygoers were asked to donate $20 at the door to go to the cause. In exchange, they were treated to music from local artists like the wonderful Gregory Page and fabulous-in-blue Alyssa Jacey.
You can still donate to the cause by checking the Stay Classy website. Follow us @nbcsandiego for updates and observations - some of them meaningful.
