89 Days for Hidden Bathroom Camera

James Burkhart admitted secretly videotaping people

A man who put a video camera in a College area Starbucks restroom has been sentenced to 89 days in jail and three years of probation.

James Burkhart, a Colorado resident who campus police say has no connection to San Diego State University, must also attend sex offender counseling, the judge ruled Wednesday.

Burkhart pleaded guilty to secretly videotaping people in the bathroom on SDSU’s campus.

The camera was found July 18 hidden behind a trash can at the Starbucks on the corner of College Avenue and Lindo Pase, according to police.
