A portion of northbound Interstate 805 will be closed Thursday night between Nobel Drive and Mira Mesa Boulevard as part of an ongoing bridge widening project.
The closure begins at 9:30 p.m. Thursday and end at 5 a.m. Friday.
Drivers on I-805 will be detoured to State Route 52 and then to northbound Interstate 5. Drivers wanting to exit sooner will be allowed to get off at the Governor Drive and Nobel Drive exits.
Detour signs will be up to help guide motorists.
The closure is the first stage in an I-805 project that will add a carpool lane, a direct access ramp and widen the bridge on the freeway.
