I-805 Shut Down at Adams Avenue

San Diego police shut down all lanes of Interstate 805 on Tuesday afternoon because of a person hanging from the bridge at Adams Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Traffic in both directions was stopped by the CHP shortly after 1 p.m. Rescuers managed to reach the woman before she fell from the bridge, though, and she was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The CHP reopened the freeway by 1:30 pm., and the backed-up traffic slowly gave way to a normal flow of travelers on the 805.
