Broken Hydrant Lifts Car 10 Ft Off Ground

The force of water pushed the car at least 10 feet in the air

A car collided with a hydrant in Chollas View early Tuesday creating a spectacular scene.

The water from the hydrant pushed the rear end of the car off the ground and kept it there while crews worked to shut off the water.

Water flooded the intersection of Euclid and Lisa streets after the accident happened around 2:30 a.m.

Immediately after the crash, everyone in the car ran from the scene so San Diego police officers believe it may have been stolen.

Officers did not find the driver or the passengers. They are treating the accident as a hit and run.
