Police Investigate Death of 3-Month-Old Baby

San Diego Police Department homicide detectives are investigating the death of a 3-month-old baby in Logan Heights.

According to SDPD officials, officers responded to a call of an infant in medical distress in the 1000 block of South 30th Street on Friday at around 8:20 a.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman holding an unconscious 3-month-old baby girl in her arms.

Despite lifesaving CPR efforts on the baby by responding officers and then paramedics, police say the infant died at the scene a short time later.

Police say an autopsy will be performed to determine the child’s cause of death. The SDPD homicide unit is handling the case and detectives ask anyone with information to call (619) 531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
