A  23-year-old jogger was struck by a hit-and-run driver Monday evening in Pacific Beach police said.

The driver, a 26-year-old woman with a passenger and a three-year-old in the back seat, is suspected of DUI. It is not clear yet if the child is hers.

The incident happened around 6:15 p.m. at Crown Point Drive and Sequoia Street.

The woman was arrested two minutes after fleeing the scene, police confirmed.

Officers took the child in their car and drove her over to Polinsky Children Center.

The jogger was transported to the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries and is undergoing surgery.

"When the vehicle was traveling north on Lamont it sideswiped a parked vehicle here damaging the front right wheel to the point where it could no longer travel," Sgt. Ron Glass of SDPD traffic told NBC 7.

The driver was arrested for felony DUI and felony hit-and-run. She could also face felony child endangerment.
