Headless Bodies Found Near Border

Dozens killed in drug war violence

Police were on high alert in Tijuana Thursday, after raging violence claimed 14 lives, including two state police agents, according to a published report.

Several of the victims were shot, and at least two others were decapitated, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

The decapitated victims were found near the Otay Mesa border crossing. Their bodies were inside large plastic barrels, their heads placed on the lids.

State agent Marco Cardenas Carrasco was killed yesterday while he was driving in eastern Tijuana. Roberto Elizalde, a veteran agent, was ambushed as he left his shift, the paper reported.
