He Said They Would Xmas Shop; Instead, He Raped Her: Deputies

A parolee abducted and sexually assaulted an East County teen on Monday, according to sheriff's deputies.

Investigators said on Wednesday that David Lascelles, 49, told the 15-year-old girl he would take her Christmas shopping. Instead, he pointed a gun on at about 10:30 a.m. her while they were in his car outside the WalMart in El Cajon. Lascelles then took her to Fiesta Island in Mission Bay, where he raped the teen, authorities said.

Four-and-a-half hours later, Lascelles drove the girl back to East County, dropping her off in Alpine. Deputies said the girl then repored the crime to investigators, identifying the 6-foot 240-pound Lascelles as her attacker.

Investigators said there's a possibility Lascelle is connected to an assault on a woman in El Cajon last month.

Agents from the Fugitive Task Force arrested Lascelles on Monday near the Metropolitan Transit System's headquarters in San Diego's East Village. Investigators said he was taken into custody without incident.

Lascelles has been charged with kidnap to commit rape, forcible rape and other sexual-assault-related charges. He is being held without bail on a state parole hold. Lascelles was paroled from prison after a conviction connected to a kidnapping and burglary case in 2006.
