A San Diego handyman was arrested after one of his clients says he raped her.
The victim told police a family member had recommended a handyman to do several days’ worth of work at her National City home.
On May 6 around 11 a.m., the worker allegedly made unwanted advances toward the woman, which she rejected.
He then forcibly raped her before leaving her home, according to National City Police Sgt. Alejandro Hernandez.
The woman reported the sexual assault to the National City Police Department.
As she was treated in the hospital, investigators soon identified 33-year-old Isaac Acuna as the suspect, Hernandez said.
The next day, detectives set up surveillance around Acuna’s home in the 500 block of Piccard Street in Otay Mesa.

When the suspect eventually drove up, he was taken into custody.
Acuna, a self-employed handyman, was booked into San Diego County jail on rape charges, according to Hernandez.
Sgt. Hernandez told NBC 7 that the woman did the right thing by hiring a handyman through references, but there should always be a second person in the house if a stranger comes over.
"It did occur in the house. This is someone that was being employed by the victim. You would never expect something like that, and as a result of that, it is very shocking," said Hernandez.
Acuna -- who has no prior arrests-- was released from jail Thursday morning on a $75,000 bail. He is expected to appear in court Monday.
