Good News for San Diego's StayClassy

San Diego-based StayClassy announced a plan to expand its services in 2011.

The social fund-raising web site said it has just completed a $1.25 million convertible debt-funding round led by 15 angel investors.

The funding should allow the company to develop new programs and expand its customer base.

β€œThe nonprofit industry is demanding better solutions,” StayClassy CEO Scot Chisholm said in a news release. β€œAnd we’re excited to be building a creative and powerful set of tools from the ground up to transform the way fundraising organizations achieve their mission.”

StayClassy offers organizations an online resource to accept donations and market themselves online through social networks while at the same time develops a community of customers who use the site to easily find and support causes they believe in.

NBCSanDiego has been a proud partner of StayClassy, working to promote such events as the Stay Classy Awards in 2009 and 2010 as well as the PB Fire Run and Twestival.
