Police are searching for a driver who ran over a man in San Diego’s University City area Saturday morning and left the victim injured in the street.
The San Diego Police Department (SDPD) said the hit-and-run happened just before 5 a.m. in the 9800 block of Genesee Avenue. Investigators said a man in his 60s was lying in the street – though the reason for this is unknown.
A driver approached the scene and ran over the man. The driver did not stop and continued east on Genesee Avenue, the SDPD said.
The victim suffered a fractured leg in the hit-and-run and was taken to a local hospital.
As of 9:40 a.m. Saturday, police did not have any details on the suspect or the suspect’s vehicle. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information can reach out to Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
