Geezer Bandit Has Facebook Fans

He may be quiet, but people around the world are talking

The so-called Geezer Bandit struck again Tuesday on the same block as his first bank heist. While investigators are trying to identify the elusive bandit, hundreds of Facebook fans are now following his every move.

Investigators said a  man believed to be in his 60s or 70s is responsible for at least nine bank robberies around the county since last August.

β€œHe is very quiet," FBI Special Agent Darrell Foxworth said. "[He] approaches the teller, often times other employees and customers don’t even know what’s happening.”

He has two Facebook pages, between them almost 300 fans as of Tuesday night. One post reads, β€œGo Geezer!” Another reads, β€œCatch the geezer already!”

The online pages are full of photos, links to news articles, even videos. One YouTube clip even advertises a mask for sale that resembles the elderly bank robber.

The FBI said they are looking into the Facebook pages. It's unknown whether or not he started the pages himself.

Three different rewards offer $16,000 total for the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
