Fletcher Takes Second Job at UCSD

Former San Diego mayor candidate Nathan Fletcher has another new job.

Fletcher is now teaching classes in California government and politics at UCSD. The part-time "Professor of Practice" position pays about $22,400 a year.

The former state assemblyman made headlines last year during the mayor's race, when he switched from Republican, to Independent.

Fletcher will continue his full-time job as senior director of corporate development at Qualcomm. There, his roles will include developing "global strategies" for wireless health initiatives, mobile education and the protection of intellectual property.

He has not yet disclosed his salary for his Qualcomm position.
