Flames, Smoke Seen Near Camp Pendleton

A vegetation fire is burning at the southern edge of Camp Pendleton, according to officials.

The blaze started around 8:15 a.m. near San Luis Rey and is currently burning at 50 acres.

Firefighters have the flames fully surrounded and are working to extinguish it.

There are no threats to base personnel or structures.
