Fire Near Palomar Mountain Burns 106 Acres

A brush fire burning at the base of Palomar Mountain has been contained after burning 106 acres, according to Cal Fire officials.

Highway 76 was closed east of Pala Reservation and West of Pauma Valley as crews attacked the blaze. Ten homes were evacuated, but no structures were damaged or destroyed, according to Cal Fire officials.

β€œFirefighters will remain on scene for several hours mopping up any remaining hot spots,” Cal Fire spokesperson Roxanne Provaznik said.

Firefighters put out another grass fire that burned at least four acres near Bonsall today, according to Cal Fire officials.

The spread of that fire, burning near Pala Road and Olive Hill Lane, has been stopped. No structures were threatened.
