One man was killed in a head-on crash in San Pasqual Friday, officials confirmed.
The fatal collision involving a car and a large truck happened just before 4 p.m. on eastbound State Route 78 and San Pasqual Road.
Police say a 32-year-old man was driving a Toyota Scion when, for unknown reason, he lost control of the vehicle on a bend and swerved into the westbound lane. His car then struck an oncoming Ford F-350 truck head-on.
Police say the man in the Scion died at the scene. The driver of the truck, a 35-year-old man, was transported to Palomar Hospital, officials said.
An investigation into the crash is underway. Polcie do not believe alcohol played a factor in the fatal accident.
Police issued a SigAlert following the collision for San Pasqual Valley Road, saying the street would be closed for the next several hours.
