A potential mountain lion sighting in Escondido near several schools prompted a search Tuesday.
A campus supervisor at the Classical Academy charter school on Bear Valley Parkway spotted the animal while driving to work Tuesday morning.
Escondido police looked for the mountain lion, but never found it.
Bear Valley Middle School is across the street from the reported sighting but administrators said they were not notified.
