Escondido Death Believed to be Homicide

Escondido homicide investigators are looking into what killed a man found dead on the side of the road.

An 18-year old man was found lying in the road on E. Washington Avenue in Escondido just after 10 p.m. Monday. A passerby flagged down police who saw that the teenager had a gunshot wound.

Escondido Fire Paramedics were called and determined the man was dead.

The man has been identified however his identity is being withheld until his family is notified.

Investigators ask that anyone who may have witnessed or have information regarding this crime contact Detective Greg Gay at (760) 839-4404, or Crimestoppers at (888) 580-TIPS.

San Diego Crimestoppers may pay a reward up to $1000 for information provided anonymously.
