A house, engulfed in flames, lit up a rainy sky in Escondido on Friday night.
Firefighters said the 1000-square-foot structure’s old and dried out wood allowed the blaze to burn hot and quickly. The fire was reported at 10:22 p.m. and firefighters arrived ten minutes later.
The abandoned home is known as a hang out spot for some of the local kids, according to Escondido firefighters. They were able to put out the fire within 15 minutes of arriving at the scene.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but individuals were seen leaving the area, according to firefighters.
