An outage left nearly 1,700 residents without power in the East County Saturday, according to San Diego Gas & Electric.
The power outage began around 1:15 p.m. and impacted customers in communities such as Granite Hills, Bostonia, East El Cajon, Alpine, Dehesa, Crest, Rancho Palo Verde and Singing Hills.
SDG&E said the cause of the unplanned outage was being investigated. For now, power is expected to be fully restored to residents by 8 p.m.
