A car crashed into a palm tree in National City just before 10 p.m. Monday night National City police confirmed.
Officers found the driver unconscious but breathing after the car veered off the road at National City Boulevard and Osborn for unknown reasons.
The driver was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
