Driver Hits 3 Parked Cars, Flees

A female driver hit three parked cars near downtown San Diego Saturday and then attempted to flee the scene, police said.

According to police, the driver struck multiple parked vehicles on the 2400 block of C Street around 2 p.m. and then took off on foot.

Police caught the suspect a short time later about four blocks away on the 2000 block of B Street.

Authorities described the driver as a female in her 30s.

She told police she had fallen asleep at the wheel by accident.

No injuries were reported.

Ed. Note: An earlier version of this article stated the driver had hit four parked cars. Police later revised their statement and said three cars were hit.
