Five years ago, the Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery opened up just outside of Petco Park in downtown San Diego.

Often the place for sports fans to catch a drink and the game, it’s also been the designated pre-game spot for Padres fans and social groups like Vavi Sports & Social Club.

Now, the sports bar is celebrating its fifth anniversary with a special celebration on Friday, March 1.

"Five years is significant in today's economy and for the restaurant industry in general,” owner/partner Anthony Laureti said in a press release from the company promoting the anniversary party.

“The Tilted Kilt's location right next to Petco Park has served us well and my partners and I are extremely grateful to all of our customers and employees for five great years."

Laureti and his partners Tamara Laureti, Bill Reynolds and Jason Wood opened additional locations in Temecula and Mission Valley in the last five years.
