A 3-month-old puppy that was kicked and thrown from the roof of a home in San Diego is looking for a new home.

Radiographs of the German shepherd /Chow Chow mix named “Almond“ showed multiple fractures, according to Lt. Dan Desousa of the San Diego County Department of Animal Services.

“They also showed previously healed fractures, indicating that the dog had been abused before,” said Lt. Desousa. “Almond underwent extensive orthopedic surgery and requires physical therapy.”

A second puppy, named “Joy”, was rescued from the home and also had previously healed fractures.

22-year-old Edgar Rodriguez was arrested by Animal Control Officers and pled guilty to one count of felony animal abuse on August 4. His sentencing is scheduled for September 15.

If you would like to adopt these pups, contact the Department of Animal Services.
