Dodgers Beat Padres 7-4 in LA

Padres came out on fire but lost against the Dodgers on Wednesday night 7-4.

Matt Kemp continues to crush the pearl against his former team, lining a single to center field and finishing the game 2 for 5.

Justin Upton hit a two-run homerun into the leftfield bullpen -- his first of the season -- to lead 2-0 early.

But the Padres' lead evaporated quickly when former Padre and Eastlake product Adrian Gonzales hit his third homerun of the series for a solo shot to cut the San Diego lead in half at 2-1.

Padres then gave up three runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Gonzalez hit two more homeruns to complete the trifecta, aka hat trick, with three homeruns on the night he went 4 for 4 with 4 RBIs.

Padres pitcher Andrew Cashner went five innings allowing five runs. Gonzalez is the first player in Major League history to hit five homeruns in the first three games of the season.

San Diego now 1-2 on the season, with the season home opener on Thursday, April 9 against the defending World Series Champion and National League West foe San Francisco Giants first pitch scheduled for 3:40pm.
