Deputy Faxes in Not Guilty Plea on DUI Charges

Deputy Diedre Quenell is accused of being combative when arrested Aug. 15

A San Diego County sheriff's deputy, accused of resisting arrest when she was pulled over by police two months ago, faxed in a not guilty plea to her arraignment Wednesday. 

Diedre Quenell, 42, has been charged with three misdemeanors, including DUI and resisting arrest stemming from her actions the night of August 15.

Quenell was spotted driving erratically in Carmel Mountain before she hit a curb in a McDonald’s parking lot according to investigators. .

One police pulled her over, Quenell was combative and identified herself as a sheriff’s deputy, police said.

Quenell did not appear for Wednesday's court hearing and her defense attorney faxed her plea in to the judge on her behalf. The next hearing will be a readiness conference Dec. 13.
