Sheriffs deputies searched for a mountain lion in 4S Ranch on Tuesday morning.
Officials received a call by a parent of a nearby Oak Valley Middle School about a possible mountain lion sighting near Winecreek Road and Carmel Valley Road around 9:30 a.m. The parent claimed to have seen the mountain lion near the gate of the campus.
A helicopter was used to search for the possible lion while deputies looked in the neighborhood. The school was not placed on lockdown and authorities were unable to locate the large cat.
