Deputies warn hikers headed into this part of the county to take water and avoid alcohol.

Deputies rushing to help a hiker in distress along an East County trail instead ended up arresting the women for being extremely drunk.

The 911 call came in to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department at 5:17 p.m. Monday.

Deputies were told a woman had fallen off a rock while hiking at the Three Sisters Falls near Julian in San Diego’s back country.

The trail to the falls is very rugged and not for the inexperienced hiker according to deputies.

After launching a helicopter, U.S. Forest Service and Cal Fire crews, emergency crews found the woman and discovered she wasn’t injured but was very drunk according to deputies.

Once they helped her to the trailhead, deputies arrested the woman for being drunk in public.
