One woman is dead after a fatal motorcycle crash in Julian near Anza-Borrego Saturday.
According to authorities at CalFire, a motorcyclist went down around 12:05 p.m. on westbound State Route 78 at Banner Grade.
CHP responded to the accident.
Authorities said a husband and wife were aboard the motorcycle.
The man was driving while the woman, 39-year-old Irvine resident Julie Faith Fortier, was riding on the rear passenger seat.
According to investigators, the driver entered a right curve on the road at high rate of speed as he was entering another lane. As he merged, the driver side-swiped another motorcyclist traveling in the opposite direction.
All riders were ejected from their motorcycles onto the road.

Fortier, the female passenger, was pronounced dead at 12:46 p.m.
