A man who allegedly left his son in the back seat of his car while he partied in a City Heights bar has pleaded not guilty in court.
Ramon Hernandez, 46, appeared in court today on charges of child endangerment and possession of cocaine.
Late Monday night, a someone called 911 after seeing a child lying down in the back of a car, with the windows up for hours.
"Police responded and located the 11-year-old victim, he was scared and unsure of when his father was coming out of the bar," said Deputy District Attorney Scott Pirrello.
Officers then located Hernandez sitting at the bar where he had allegedly been drinking and under the influence of a controlled substance and quickly took him into custody.
The 11-year-old child is now in protective custody at the Polinsky Children's Center.
If convicted, Hernandez faces a maximum of four years behind bars.
