A man riding his bike was killed Wednesday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle, according to officials.

Charles Gilbreth, 63, was riding his bike on Montezuma Road when an SUV struck and killed him. Resuscitative efforts were attempted, but Gilbreth was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident happened just before 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday on eastbound Montezuma Road, a quarter mile east of Fairemont Avenue.

A SigAlert was issued while authorities investigated the incident.

Authorities have confirmed that no alcohol or drugs were involved in the incident, and it was not a hit-and-run.
