Crews rescued a Cowles Mountain hiker with a leg injury Tuesday morning.

The hiker became stuck on the trail along Mission Trails Regional Park Tuesday morning just before 11 a.m., the Santee Fire Department said.

A helicopter was called to rescue the hiker, who authorities said lost her footing on one of the rocks.

She was about a mile up the steep trail.

Medics determined later that the woman in her 50's had minor injuries.
