Fire tore through an apartment in San Diego Sunday, leaving one person without a place to stay on Christmas Day.

Firefighters responded to the complex on San Diego Mission Road just after 11 a.m.

A neighbor captured images of the smoke coming from the top of the unit just as firefighters arrived.

It’s not yet known how many units in the 3-story complex were affected by the fire.

The San Diego chapter of the American Red Cross will offer assistance to the adult who has been displaced.

    The cause is under investigation.
