An out-of-control truck tipped over on Interstate 15 early Saturday, bursting into flames and closing a section of the highway to traffic.
California Highway Patrol officers said the cement mixer blew a tire and then lost control while traveling northbound I-15 near Scripps Poway Parkway and Mercy Road around 7 a.m.
The driver managed to escape the vehicle without injury, officials said. He was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
Firefighters arrived and immediately jumped on the fire that had spread into nearby brush.
Later, hazmat crews were concerned about fuel leaking from the truck. The fuel was cleaned up but crews were still assessing the scene as of 8 a.m.
Officials said no other vehicles were involved.

CHP officials closed several lanes along a section of I-15 north as well as the Mercy Road onramp.
