 Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Collision: Escondido

Escondido police were searching for information related to an early morning collision on Friday that left a motorcyclist seriously injured and closed an intersection in Escondido for hours.

The male motorcyclist was headed eastbound on Lincoln Avenue toward North Ash Street at about 6:40 a.m. when he struck a red Mazda truck making a left turn, according to EPD Lt. Tom Albergo.

The rider sustained serious injuries from the accident and was later transported to Palomar Hospital where he was listed in critical condition, Albergo said.

The intersection was closed at 7:05 a.m. and reopened shortly after 10:45 a.m., according to an EPD dispatcher.
