New Restaurant to Open at Lexus Dealership

San Diego's restaurant magnates David and Lesley Cohn are opening a new restaurant in Lexus Centre, the 300,000 square-foot complex that houses Escondido Lexus, the North County Times reports.

The Cohn Restaurant group signed a 10-year lease with the dealership for their next restaurant Vintana, which will open on the centre's third floor in February, the paper reports.

The Cohn Restaurant Group operates 12 restaurants in San Diego County including 333 Pacific in Oceanside, the Prado and the Tea Pavilion in Balboa Park, Blue Point Coastal Cuisine and the Gaslamp Strip Club in downtown San Diego and the Indigo Grill in Little Italy.

David Cohn said he had reservations about the space, but a visit to the Centre changed his mind.

"We walked through it and fell in love," he told the paper.

Cohn Restaurant Group partner Deborah Scott says the location of the restaurant doesn't necessarily mean the restaurant's cost point will be high dollar.

"We want to keep the price point at $25 and below, so it'll be a place that our guests from North County can visit on a regular basis," she said. "We don't want it to be just for special occasions. We don't want it to be pretentious or a place people feel they have to dress up to."

The complex has two meeting rooms that can be rented out for events, a golf simulator for Lexus customers, and a top-floor deck for concerts. The second floor of the complex has 5,000 square feet of retail space for five businesses.
