A rock climber was seriously injured after he fell from Mission Gorge’s main wall at Mission Trails Regional Park on Sunday evening.

Firefighters rescued the 36-year-old man about a 1/2 mile from the top of the mountain around 5:30 p.m.

The man hit his head during the fall and was rushed to the hospital with life threatening injuries, officials said.
