Man Defends Home with Baseball Bat

The intruders came face-to-face with the man holding a bat and decided to flee

A City Heights homeowner fended off a group of intruders late Sunday night using a baseball bat and a lot of courage.

The man heard men breaking into his house on 39th Street around 11:30 p.m.

That’s when he decided to take action.

San Diego police say the man answered the door holding a baseball bat.

That scared off the men and as the homeowner followed them, bat in hand, one intruder fell, grabbed his gun and pointed it at the homeowner.

No one was injured and the men got away.

Since the men did not get into the house, nothing was stolen.
