The City Heights home was engulfed in flames.

A fire in City Heights Monday night severely damaged a home, according to officials.

Fire crews arrived at the 3600-block of Van Dyke Avenue just after 10:30 last night, where they found a house engulfed by flames. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire.

Neighbors say a grandfather who lives there rushed in to try to help the family.

No injuries were reported and the red cross was called in to find a place to stay for four adults and two children.

    The cause is under investigation.
