A suspect is wanted in the sexual assault of a teenager in Chula Vista.
The victim, who officials said is a 13-year-old girl, was with a friend at a restaurant Sunday evening when the suspect arrived at the same restaurant.
Around 9:30 p.m. Chula Vista police officers were called to an apartment complex on Anita Street when residents of the complex called 911.
Investigators say the suspect, an 18-year-old man, sexually assaulted the teenager behind a parking structure at the complex.
Officers discovered the 13-year-old unconscious with her pants down and her shirt up.
He left the scene however the victim stayed there and emergency crews were called to transport her to Rady Children’s Hospital.
Officers located the mother of the victim.

Even though the suspect was still outstanding as of 7 a.m. Monday, officers said they have a good idea of his identity.
Officers say the victim was with the suspect drinking alcohol earlier in the evening.
