A 4-year-old boy was struck and injured by a car in Normal Heights Thursday night, the San Diego Police Department confirmed.
The collision happened around 7:10 p.m. in the 4600 block of 33rd Street.
Police say the young boy chased a ball into the street, running out directly into the path of a Jeep Cherokee that was traveling northbound.
The vehicle struck the boy, and the child sustained a broken femur. The boy was transported to Rady Children’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver, who was not injured in the collision, remained at the scene as police began their investigation.
